The Career and Placement Center (CPC) at NSU hosted the Completion Report Ceremony of the B-MEET and B-JET Programs

Dhaka, 17 December 2024: The Career and Placement Center (CPC) at North South University
(NSU) today (Tuesday) successfully hosted the Completion Report Ceremony of the B-MEET and
B-JET Programs. The event celebrated the growing partnership between Bangladesh and Japan in
advancing education and equipping young professionals with global skills.
The program began with a welcome address by Professor Mohammad Khasro Miah, Director, CPC,
NSU. The closing ceremony of the B-JET program featured a vibrant cultural performance
showcasing the friendship between Bangladesh and Japan, alongside heartfelt testimonials from B-
JET trainees who have secured employment opportunities in Japan.
A major highlight of the event was the unveiling of a magazine celebrating the enduring friendship
between the two nations. Another significant milestone was the signing of a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) between North South University and Shinkyo Shuppansha Keirinkan Co.,
Ltd., Japan, emphasizing collaborative growth and educational excellence.
Mr. Fumikatsu Homma, Managing Director of Shinkoshuppansha Keirinkan Co., Ltd., Japan,
highlighted the strong bond between Bangladesh and Japan, emphasizing the collaboration’s role in
equipping young professionals with global skills. Speeches from distinguished guests, including Mr.
Hidenari Nagayama, Deputy Mayor of Miyazaki City, Mr. Noriaki Okada, President of Miyazaki IT
Plus, and Mr. Yasuhiro Akashi, COO of BJIT Inc., underscored the importance of cross-cultural
understanding, technological advancements, and the trainees' adaptability in bridging cultural and
professional gaps.
In a ceremonious exchange, the Chief Representative of JICA Bangladesh presented the JICA Award
to NSU Vice-Chancellor Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, who, in turn, conferred NSU Awards
upon JICA, JETRO, UoM, BCC, B&M, Miyazaki IT Plus, and BJIT for their contributions to the B-
MEET and B-JET initiatives. Additionally, Certificates of Appreciation were jointly presented by
NSU and UoM to contributors from Bangladesh and Japan.
Mr. Ichiguchi Tomohide, Chief Representative of JICA Bangladesh, and H.E. Mr. IWAMA
Kiminori, Ambassador of Japan, praised the programs for fostering international collaboration and
empowering young professionals. H.E. Mr. IWAMA stated, “The level of IT, young talented
generation in BD is very high individuals in the ICT sector, where many are emerging as rising stars.
To contribute not only to the industry but to the whole Bangladeshi nation, now it is the time to effort
our Japan-Bangladesh collaboration to bring our partnership and Bangladeshi ICT sector to new
heights, driving the Bangladeshi ICT sector forward. To achieve this, the Japanese government wants
to facilitate collaboration between industry, academia, and government stakeholders.”
Vice-Chancellor of NSU Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury NSU Vice-Chancellor Professor
Abdul Hannan Chowdhury emphasized the importance of global partnerships, saying, “Through
cultural interactions and knowledge exchange, we can broaden perspectives and promote a more
harmonious world. I would also like to thank the Japanese industries that have extended their support
through various projects with this university.”
The event concluded with closing remarks and a vote of thanks from Ms. Yasue Yoshinari, Director
and Vice-President of the University of Miyazaki, Japan.
